Oh Christmas Tree!

Last year Quinn was a little to small to decorate the tree, but this year she helped full force! And I mean that literally. She threw all of the ball shaped decorations across the room (only broke one :) and then finally decided to help put them on the tree. We started decorating the week before Thanksgiving because we were so excited!

A little behind on the posts...

I took these pictures the day Quinn got her cast removed. She was so cute testing her little leg out with small little strides and jumps, she was so very, very happy to have her leg back!

Aunt Bear came over to celebrate with her and to also teach her the proper way to eat a raspberry...



Then Quinn enjoyed playing dress up with her hats, she was in such a good mood!

Play date

It has been awhile since the whole gang got to play together and I brought my camera to take pics :) They played, did finger painting and coloring and enjoyed some yummy cheetos.

Alabama trip

Recently I took a trip up to Alabama with Teddy and my dad to visit with my grammy. We were very happy we got to spend some time with her and wish we could see her more often.

Quinn spelling her name and counting to ten!
She surprised us this past weekend by suddenly spelling her name (we've only said it a handful of times to her) and we have been working on the counting for a little while. She is so cute!

A cast update

I didn't get a chance to blog about this last week, but Quinn got her cast removed Friday morning! Her leg is all healed and she can walk on it again (although she still walks a little funny right now, they said that should get better though) and we are very happy. :)

One of Quinn's favorite things to do is to color with crayons or markers. She is still iffy on finger paints because she doesn't like her hands getting messy :)

Play date

Quinn attempted her first "cast" play date last week and it was a success. She enjoyed playing with Emily and Cara and studying baby Aiden.

Quinn is now basically running around with the cast on, but she really still cannot play outside, so that leads to some vegging time on the couch...

The last of the Halloween/October pictures...

These are the last of the pictures from October! While Quinny actually had a rough Halloween day due to lack of sleep because of her cast, she did have a little fun over the weekend :)

Quinny wanted to be a kitty for Halloween so *poof* mommy made a kitty costume!

We did our pumpkin carving this week with Aunt Bear and Uncle David, Quinny picked the (kitty) design, helped clean out the pumpkin and then mommy and daddy did all the hard work. It was super fun though.

Quinny had to get a new cast on today. Her tibia (shin) is broken so she has to go another 2+ weeks in a cast to let it heal. We were SUPER sad but we will get through it.
We mixed it up and went with purple this time...hopefully this one will fix her all up.

Farm Tour

This past Sunday we went on a free farm tour to a local farm in Monticello. It is a farm that raises sheep, goats (the fainting goats!) and chickens and it also a boarding place for dogs. The weather was so perfect outside and besides petting the animals we also got to go on a hayride, yay!

There were actually about 20 or so farms to choose from and many more cool things to see but we decided we would have to save that for next year since it was a little hard for Quinny in her cast. But I'm so glad they are putting this on now annually, it was such a fun event.

Another pumpkin patch visit!

We cannot get enough of the pumpkin's this year! This week we did a play date at a different pumpkin patch and then we also took some time to get some pictures of our little family.

Emily and Cara were there for the pumpkin play date and while Quinn was a little sad she couldn't do much, she did enjoy getting her cast signed and all the love she received from her friends!

Although it was IMPOSSIBLE to get one picture of all the girls together, oh the joys of being a toddler!

Ok, so Quinn weighs 30 lbs. Add on a cast to that and the fact she cannot hook her legs around us now...this all means very sore backs for mommy and daddy. So yes, we gave in and bought her a new wagon to drag her around in!
New fancy wagon = happier baby & happier parents!

Quinn has been having a lot of fun play time lately with g-pa and g-ma...we appreciate the visits!

Before Quinn's accident on Saturday we made some cotton candy in our cotton candy making machine! Quinn loved it :)

A cast...at least it's pink!

So, I guess I spoke too soon yesterday :( We went back to the doctor today and Quinn had more x-ray's done and the injury to her knee finally was showing up. She had swelling and "buckle" in the growth plate in her knee, which would have meant a break of a bone in an adult. The doctor said she wouldn't need a full body cast but she would need to at least cast her leg for about 2 weeks (fingers crossed that will be all!) This isn't horrible, but it's definitely no picnic either. She basically cannot crawl, walk, bathe or sleep. To say that she is frustrated is an understatement. We know that it's for the best so that she doesn't have future problems with the leg, but that isn't something she understands right now.
Hey, at least she is pretty in pink though. :)

Oh and a good Quinny update, she walked on her own tonight!! She seems to be doing much better, even though she is not fully healed yet she is on the mend :0)

Quinn singing her ABC's...

Here is a little mix of Quinny singing her ABC's.
She pretty much knows all the letters now (she has an abc puzzle she can now match up all the letters) and she loves to sing along with the song now too...we will be having a lot of time sitting and singing until her leg heals up!
(Watch for the "S" it is super cute how she says it!)

Poor baby!!!! :(

Quinny had to go to the E.R. yesterday because she had a little accident and hurt her leg! Luckily, there were no broken bones, but she still can't walk on it and has to wear a removable cast. We have to see an orthopedic doctor to check for other injuries. We spent 5 long, horrible hours at the emergency room, minus her having her nap or lunch but she was such a trooper! She continues to amaze me with the things she does. She just sat with us and gave us hugs and kisses, like she was trying to make us feel better. We are really hoping she heals fast and can start walking again, because it's killing mommy and daddy to see her like this.
